No More Silence
Let’s tell our stories…(See sample story here)
No More Silence Storytelling Project Overview
Let’s stand together and break the silence!
For too long, the “sex offender” label has been used by the justice system, the media, and society to strip people of their humanity – portraying them as unworthy of empathy and incapable of change. This harmful, one-size-fits-all narrative fuels shame, fear, and lifelong punishment.
The No More Silence Storytelling Project seeks to change that. Through personal stories, we highlight the truth: men and women – and their families – are more than a label. Their voices matter. Their experiences reveal the urgent need for reform and compassion, both inside the criminal justice system and prisons, and in the outside world shaped by the public registry.
Why Stories Matter
By sharing these stories, we aim to:
- Shine a light on the impact this label has on individuals, families, friendships, and futures.
- Expose the reality that “time served” is never truly the end, as civil liberties and family life remain under constant threat.
- Show the full picture – not just the struggles, but also the accomplishments, goals, hopes, and dreams for a better life.
Our Goal
These stories will be used as tools for advocacy and reform. Together, they create a powerful collective voice that lawmakers, leaders, and communities cannot ignore.
There is power in numbers. There is power in truth.
Let’s rise up, share our voices, and break the silence – together.
